CakePHP CakePHP is a rapid development framework for PHP that provides an extensible architecture for developing, maintaining, and deploying applications. Using commonly known design patterns like MVC and ORM within the convention over configuration paradigm, CakePHP reduces development costs and helps developers write less code. CakePHP is an open source web application framework written in PHP, modeled after the concepts of Ruby on Rails, and distributed under the MIT License. Some Features of CakePHP: * No Configuration - Set-up the database and let the magic begin * Extremely Simple - Just look at the name...It's Cake * Active, Friendly Community - Join us #cakephp on IRC. We'd love to help you get started. * Flexible License - Distributed under the MIT License * Clean IP - Every line of code was written by the CakePHP development team * Best Practices - covering security, authentication, and session handling, among the many other features. * OO - Whether you are a seasoned object-oriented programmer or a beginner, you'll feel comfortable CakePHP started in 2005, when Ruby on Rails was gaining popularity. The community has since grown and spawned several sub-projects. CakePHP is not a port of Ruby on Rails to PHP, but appropriates many of its useful concepts. The Mambo Foundation announced in 2007 that it would utilize the CakePHP framework for future versions of its widely used content management system, calling CakePHP a "solid choice and certainly one of the top frameworks available today." Contributor's Note I like CakePHP Framework. Best of PHP framwork out there in my opinion.
